Jospong Group partners Swiss Institute to drive health and environmental innovation

The Jospong Group of Companies has entered into a partnership with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute to advance research and innovation that promote public health and environmental sustainability.

Under a new memorandum of understanding, the two institutions will collaborate on clean technology, knowledge exchange, and the development of solutions that strengthen health systems and environmental resilience.

Chief Operating Officer of the Jospong Group, Dr Samanjith Udumalaga, said the partnership will enhance the group’s operations and contribute to its long-term goal of improving lives through sustainable business practices.

“The collaboration adds value to what we do and allows us to benefit from the Swiss institute’s experience in global health and research,” Dr Udumalaga said.

Head of Business Development and Strategy for Waste Processing at Jospong, Drusilla Villars, described the agreement as a major step forward for the company. She said it would open new opportunities for research, innovation, and investment in sustainability.

Professor Douglas Haggstrom from the Swiss TPH Innovation Center said the institute is eager to build a lasting partnership that benefits both Ghana and Switzerland.

“Our goal is to scale up research that leads to real innovation and to ensure this partnership improves lives in Ghana,” he said.

The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute is known globally for its work in infectious and non-communicable diseases, climate change, and health systems development, particularly in low and middle income countries.
