At 80, Joyce Rosalind Aryee remains a towering symbol of service, faith and leadership in Ghana. Though she says with a smile, “I don’t feel 80,” her life tells a story of purpose, resilience and impact across decades of national transformation.

From her early days at Achimota School and the University of Ghana, her leadership journey was evident, built on responsibility rather than authority. That path led her into public service under Jerry John Rawlings, where she served in the PNDC as Secretary of Information and later handled key national portfolios during a turbulent era.

Despite the challenges, she contributed to Ghana’s return to constitutional rule and later broke new ground as the first woman to head the Ghana Chamber of Mines, serving as CEO for a decade.

Deeply rooted in faith, she credits her strength to God, describing her “child’s heart” as her greatest blessing. Her journey into ministry led to the founding of the Salt and Light Ministry, where she continues to inspire and guide others.
At 80, Joyce Aryee is far from slowing down. “There is nothing like retirement on my table,” she says. “While I can, I will continue to serve, lead, inspire and motivate.”
