The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has moved to debunk claims that it recorded losses exceeding GHC 3 billion in its first year of operation, describing the report by Asaaseradio as “false and misleading.”
In a statement issued Monday, the Board emphasized that the publication misrepresents GoldBod’s financial position and undermines its contributions to Ghana’s economy. According to GoldBod, the organization has consistently generated substantial surpluses since its establishment.
The Board also confirmed that its quarterly financial statements, which will soon be released on its official website, will demonstrate the strong financial performance of the organization.
GoldBod is urging the public to ignore the report and has called on Asaaseradio to issue a retraction and apology for spreading misinformation. The Board reiterated its commitment to transparency, ethical operations, and the continued growth of Ghana’s gold industry.
