The family of 18-year-old Theophilus Ansah, a final year science student of Ghana National College who died recently, has petitioned Child Rights International and other human rights organizations to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
According to the family, the school authorities’ negligence led to Theophilus’ death, and they want justice to be served to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The funeral ceremony, held at the family house in Anomabo, Central Region, was filled with grief and sorrow as sympathizers bid farewell to the young student.
Family spokesperson, Lucy Quainoo, expressed their desperation to get to the bottom of the matter, while a colleague and final year student, Prince Charles, shared fond memories of Theophilus.
The Central Regional Education Directorate has pledged to support the family with a transparent investigation and presented an amount of GHS 10,000 to support the burial process.
