Kadehene steps down after 21 years of service

Kade was filled with mixed emotions on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, as Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II announced his decision to step down after 21 years as Chief of Kade.

His abdication brings an end to a reign that began in April 2004 and has been marked by both challenges and devotion to his people.

In a statement personally signed by the chief, he described his time on the Aduana I Stool as “tumultuous,” but guided by grace and divine direction. He said his decision to relinquish the stool was made in the hope of fostering unity and progress among the people of Kade and the wider Okyeman community.

“I have decided to relinquish the stool after twenty-one years of occupancy with the singular purpose that those who actively undermined my reign can now unite and seek the development and prosperity of Kademan and Okyeman,” he said.

Osabarima Agyare Tenadu II expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Aduana family for the trust they placed in him throughout his leadership.

His departure marks a significant moment in Kade’s history, closing a chapter of over two decades of traditional authority and opening the way for new leadership in the community.
