Kasoa residents unite to fight back negative tagging

Residents and businesses in Kasoa are facing negative impacts due to the continuous tagging of the area in criminal activities. The concerned residents have ignited a campaign against the tag, which they believe is unjustified.

According to the residents, there have been several complaints from dwellers about struggling businesses, and young persons are struggling to secure employment as companies are reluctant to offer opportunities to them because they reside in Kasoa.

The residents believe that many criminal incidents reported in the media do not occur within the exact boundaries of the area.

They have resolved to institute a campaign to erase the misconception of Kasoa being a crime-prone zone, starting from June 1, 2024.

In a show of support, the two main political parties, NPP and NDC, have pledged their commitment to support the campaign and ensure that their political campaigns and the main elections are free from violence.

The Convener for the Coalition Concerned Residents Associations of Kasoa, Akwasi Addo, and the Founder of Ghana Youth For Peace Arise, Alex Mensah Ekow Oduro, have expressed their determination to see the campaign through.

The Kasoa NPP Communications Director, Kwame Ampadu, and the Kasoa NDC Organizer, Daniel Takyi Mensah, have also assured their parties’ support for the campaign.
