Kennedy Agyapong Fires Back At Abronye DC After Public Clash In Berekum

Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has addressed his recent altercation with Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), during the party’s ongoing Thank You Tour.

Speaking during an interview with Moro Awudu on Good Morning Ghana on Accra-based Metro TV, Mr. Agyapong did not mince words about the confrontation.

“I would not allow Abronye DC to diss me anyhow in front of people without responding,” he said. “Respect must be mutual. I will not sit and be insulted publicly without defending myself.”

Although Mr. Agyapong did not provide full details about the cause of the clash, his remarks highlight the increasing tensions among senior NPP figures in the aftermath of the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.

Former Assin Central MP, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, clashed with New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe Abronye, at Berekum in the Bono Region during Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s national thank-you tour last Monday.

Mr. Agyapong, who placed second in the NPP presidential primaries and has a strong grassroots following, emphasized the need for internal respect, suggesting that he will not tolerate public humiliation from any party member, regardless of position.
