Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania named co-hosts for CAF CHAN tournament

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will co-host the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 1st to February 28th, 2025.

CAF has yet to confirm the host stadiums and training venues, but the road to CHAN 2025 will begin with the first round of qualifiers on the weekends of October 25-27 and November 1-3, 2024. The second round is set for December 20-22 and December 27-29, 2024.

Qualification slots have been allocated across the different African zones. WAFU A, WAFU B, UNAF, UNIFFAC, and COSAFA zones will each produce three teams, while the CECAFA zone, which includes the host countries, receives an additional slot due to automatic qualification. The best-performing CECAFA team in the qualifiers will also advance to the tournament, joining the 19 total teams set to compete.

Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will aim for strong showings in the qualifiers, despite already being guaranteed spots as hosts
