KIA systems unaffected despite global IT outage – GACL

Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has assured the public that Kotoka International Airport (KIA) is operating normally despite a global IT outage affecting some airports and airlines worldwide.

“We would like to assure the general public that Kotoka International Airport’s IT systems are intact,” GACL management said in a statement on Friday, July 19.

However, due to the global nature of the glitch, the management said, some flight delays and interruptions may be experienced from countries affected by the glitch, which may have a slight impact on Accra.

According to GACL, out of the 24 international airlines operating at KIA, only one has had to cancel some of its scheduled flights, while all other operations are uninterrupted and on schedule as usual.

“Management will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates to the traveling public as necessary,” the statement added.
