KNUST Student Stabbed Following Struggle Over Cash From Kennedy Agyapong’s Team

A student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is currently receiving medical treatment after being stabbed during a violent altercation at a New Patriotic Party (NPP) “Thank You Tour” event in Bantama.

The tour, led by former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Agyapong, and other senior NPP executives, was intended to show gratitude to supporters in the Ashanti Region.

However, the atmosphere turned chaotic when tensions erupted among students from KNUST’s Unity Hall, who had been mobilized for the event.

According to eyewitness reports, members of Kennedy Agyapong’s team distributed GH¢500 to each participating student as a gesture of appreciation.

Disputes reportedly broke out over the fairness of the distribution, with some students alleging they had been short-changed.

The disagreement quickly escalated from verbal exchanges to physical violence, culminating in the stabbing of one student by another. The injured individual was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, where their condition remains unknown.

The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended. Police have launched an investigation and are calling on witnesses to assist in locating the individual responsible.
