Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, Kofi Adams, has lambasted the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for failing to deliver on its campaign promises.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Kofi Adams expressed deep concerns over the government’s credibility and trustworthiness.
“The government promised to build roads and develop our communities, but they have failed to deliver,” Adams said.
“We knew in 2020 that they were making empty promises to deceive people for votes.”
Kofi Adams specifically criticized the government’s handling of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP), an initiative aimed at enhancing Ghana’s road network by decentralising road infrastructure development and addressing challenges facing metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies (MMDAs) across the country.
“The DRIP fund is not controlled by the President or Vice President, yet they claim credit for its initiatives,” Adams noted.
“This is a clear case of dishonesty and an attempt to deceive the people.”
He also accused Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia of misrepresenting facts.
“During the inauguration of the DRIP project, it was clear that the idea originated from the local government committee, not Doctor Bawumia,” he noted.
The Buem MP warned that the government’s continued dishonesty would have severe consequences.
“When you lose credibility, you lose the trust of the people. This government must focus on fulfilling its promises, not spreading lies.”
