Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has criticised Ghana’s long-standing practice of appointing separate Management Committees for each national team, describing the arrangement as ineffective and detrimental to the country’s football and sports development.
For years, Ghana’s various national teams, including the Black Stars and the Black Queens, have operated under different Management Committees tasked with overseeing their administrative and operational affairs.
However, Adams believes the system has created unnecessary administrative burdens and made it more difficult for the government to effectively manage the country’s sporting activities.
Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, the Buem Member of Parliament called for a more coordinated management structure, insisting that the current arrangement is not the best model for developing Ghanaian football.
“Having separate Management Teams for the various national teams becomes a burden on us and creates so many challenges for us based on what I have seen and what I came to meet, and I believe that is not the best way to manage our sport,” Adams said.
