Kojo Bonsu concedes defeat; calls Mahama to congratulate him

NDC flagbearer hopeful, Kojo Bonsu has conceded defeat and he has consequently called to congratulate John Dramani Mahama for winning the party’s flagbearership race in a landslide victory.

The former Kumasi Mayor disclosed in a Facebook post on Saturday, May 13, 2023, that he had placed a call to Mr. Mahama to congratulate him on his victory.

Although the party has not yet formally acknowledged former President Mahama’s victory, results that are starting to trickle in show that he is cruising to an overwhelming victory in the just-concluded primaries.

“I have placed a call to H.E. John Dramani Mahama to congratulate him for the landslide victory.

Just as I’ve indicated throughout my campaign, regardless of the outcome of this election I’ll continue to serve the NDC party,” Mr. Bonsu wrote.

After Dr. Kwabena Duffuor withdrew from the race due to irregularities, Mr. Bonsu was the only candidate left to challenge former President John Mahama.

Dr. Duffuor charged that the party’s leadership had broken the agreement and guarantee offered to the three presidential candidates to address the register-related concerns before Saturday’s elections.
