Kotoko Striker Albert Amoah Joins Al Ahly SC in Lior $200K Transfer

Albert Amoah, the 23-year-old Ghanaian forward, has completed a move from Asante Kotoko to Libyan Premier League club Al Ahly SC for a reported $200,000.

The transfer follows a disappointing exit from the CAF Confederation Cup, where Amoah and his Kotoko teammates suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club.

Amoah, who joined Asante Kotoko from Great Olympics in 2024, made an immediate impact with the Porcupine Warriors, finishing last season as the club’s top scorer.

In 29 appearances across all competitions, he netted an impressive 15 goals and also contributed to Kotoko’s FA Cup victory with three goals in four matches.

This season, he continued his fine form, scoring four goals in six matches, including a brace in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round against Kwara United.

The highly-rated striker is expected to arrive in Libya this weekend to undergo a medical examination before officially linking up with his new teammates. His move to Al Ahly SC is seen as a significant step in his career, with the Libyan club looking to strengthen their attacking force for the 2025–26 season.

Amoah’s departure marks a new chapter in his career after his successful stint in the Ghana Premier League.

His performances have earned him recognition beyond the domestic scene, with Al Ahly SC securing his services as they aim to make an impact in the Libyan league.
