Kwesi Nyantakyi, former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has expressed deep concern over the current state of Asante Kotoko.
In a revealing interview with Sportstiger on Original TV, Nyantakyi stated, “I’m affiliated with Kotoko. We don’t have a CEO, and it worries us.”
He emphasized that the absence of strong leadership at Kotoko, one of Ghana’s most iconic clubs, is not just a club issue—it affects the entire Ghana Premier League. “Things are not going well at Kotoko because they don’t have a CEO. They should do well to help improve Ghana football because if Kotoko rises, Ghana football rises,” he said.
Asante Kotoko has experienced a turbulent season in the Ghana Premier League, and Nyantakyi believes that appointing a competent CEO could stabilize the club and rejuvenate its performance.
According to him, effective leadership is key to transforming the club’s fortunes and, by extension, strengthening Ghanaian football.
