Asante Kotoko’s Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, says the club will not rush into making a decision on the future of head coach Abdul Karim Zito despite mounting pressure from supporters calling for his dismissal.
Following a goalless home draw against Berekum Chelsea FC in the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season; Zito, who has recorded three defeats after 18 league matches, has come under intense scrutiny from fans dissatisfied with the team’s performances, prompting chants for his removal and an emergency meeting by the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) on Monday, even as the Porcupine Warriors remain firmly in contention for the league title, sitting fourth on the table with 31 points.
“When the expectation of our supporters is not being met, obviously, the focus will be on sacking the coach… but I can assure you that we will not rush into taking any such decision”
“I will plead with them to exercise patience”We need some consistency for once”, He affirmed.
“The technical team we brought have not spent up to one year. I don’t think that in football, you don’t have to give them enough time to achieve results,” Sarfo Duku said.
