Kotoko’s quest to defend the GPL trophy still on course — Nana Kwame Dankwah

First Vice Chairman of Asante Kotoko’s National Circles Council, Nana Kwame Dankwah, has expressed optimism towards the end of the 2022-23 Betpawa Premier League season with nine games to go.

This statement comes ahead of the Porcupine Warriors’ matchday 26 fixture against Berekum Chelsea on Friday, 14th April 2023 away from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko lock horns 4 months after the Premier League match which the Kumasi-based side won 2-1.

In an interview with Original 91.9 FM’s King Kaninja, the staunch Fabulous supporter said Kotoko’s quest to defend the Ghana Premier League title is still on course.

“Berekum Chelsea v Asante Kotoko is a crucial game on any day”

“As supporters we are going all out to cheer the team on, we believe they are very much capable of defending the GPL trophy”

“Kotoko is the best team in the league and we believe in them”

Asante Kotoko are going into the fixture after playing a draw against King Faisal on April 5 extending their unbeaten run to 3 matches. They have been conceding goals for 3 consecutive away matches now which puts additional psychological pressure on the team.

The Bibires (Berekum Chelsea ) have gone four straight games without a win and the coach of the side together with the players will look forward to putting extra effort into the defense in order to prevent any further defeat.
