Kumasi is ready to host world-class tournament – LOC Member

Member of the Local Organising Committee for the 2023 WAFU B Girls U20 Championship, Evelyn Nsiah Asare says Kumasi is ready to host the tournament from May 20 – June 3.

The prestigious WAFU B Girls U20 Championship will see teams from seven member countries vying for regional glory.

Group A will see Ghana joined by Benin and Cote d’Ivoire, while Group B features Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Togo.

In an exclusive interview with Gideon Okyere Anim “Gatusso” on Original 91.9FM’s Super Sports Show, the Chief Executive Officer of Hasaacas Ladies expressed optimism ahead of the tournament.

‘’We have been planning and working hard over the past few days and I can assure the people of Ghana that a lot is going on behind the scenes to stage a world-class tournament”.

‘’This is another great opportunity for Ashanti Region to showcase our rich culture and history to the world’’.

The tournament format entails three teams in Group A, with each team playing two matches before advancing to the knockout stages.

The top two teams from each group will secure their place in the highly anticipated semi-finals.

Ghana will be keen on capitalizing on the home advantage and showcase our talent against formidable opponents in Benin and Cote d’Ivoire.
