The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has been elected as the Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe made the announcement during an Executive Council meeting held in Accra on April 26, 2025.
President Simeon-Okraku, who also leads WAFU Zone B, has been recognized for his exemplary leadership both in Ghana and within the broader West African and African football fraternities.
His appointment comes as part of efforts by Dr. Motsepe to restructure CAF’s leadership following the resignation of four out of its five previous vice presidents.
Meanwhile, Morocco Football Federation President Fouzi Lekjaa has been appointed as CAF’s First Vice President.
Gabon’s Pierre-Alain Mounguengui has been named Third Vice President, while Ms. Bestine Kazadi Ditabala of the Democratic Republic of Congo takes up the role of Fourth Vice President. Mozambique’s Feizal Sidat has been appointed Fifth Vice President.
Dr. Motsepe also announced that Yacine Idriss Diallo, President of the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF), has been co-opted onto the CAF Executive Committee.
Furthermore, Pierre-Alain Mounguengui has been elected President of the Organizing Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN). Samuel Eto’o heads the CAF Technical and Development Committee, with Tunisia’s Malouche Belhassen serving as Vice President.
In the medical sector, Dr. Mohammed Bouya of Mauritania has been appointed President of the CAF Medical Committee, with South Africa’s Dr. Thulani Ngwenya serving as Vice President.
