President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has praised the performance of Ghana Premier League clubs, describing the 2024/2025 season as “fantastic” so far.
In an interview with Gideon Okyere Anim (Gattuso) on Accra-based Original TV, Mr. Okraku expressed satisfaction with the level of competition, commitment from clubs, and the overall improvement in the quality of play across the league.
“The league has been fantastic so far this season,” he said. “We’re seeing great performances, exciting matches, and growing fan engagement.”
Mr. Okraku credited the clubs, technical teams, and players for their hard work and professionalism, adding that their collective efforts are helping to rebuild confidence in Ghana’s domestic football.
The 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League has drawn attention for its competitiveness, with tighter scorelines, emerging talents, and improved officiating standards — all of which have contributed to renewed interest from fans and media alike.
As part of ongoing reforms, the GFA has invested in coaching development, infrastructure support, and digital media coverage to enhance the visibility and commercial value of the league.
“We still have work to do, but the signs are encouraging. Our clubs are playing with passion, and fans are beginning to believe again,” Mr. Okraku added.
His comments come at a time when efforts are being intensified to make the local league more attractive to sponsors, broadcasters, and international scouts.
The GFA President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to growing the domestic game and making the Ghana Premier League a model for others across the continent.
