Kwahuhemaa Kidnapped As Armed Men Storm Kwahu Palace At Dawn

The Palace of the Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional Council in Abene was attacked at dawn on Monday, November 17, 2025, by armed men reportedly dressed in police uniforms and claiming to be officers from National Security.

The incident, which occurred around 4 a.m., threw the palace and surrounding community into panic.

Residents say they heard multiple gunshots coming from inside the palace moments before the assailants allegedly abducted the Kwahuhemaa, Nana Adwoa Gyemfua, who was present during the raid.

Eyewitnesses described the attackers as heavily armed and moving with precision, further fueling suspicion that they were impersonating trained security personnel.

During the attack, the gunmen also seized the official Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to the Kwahuhene.
Tracking information obtained by palace authorities indicates that the vehicle is moving toward Accra, though its exact location remains undisclosed for security reasons.

As of now, the motive behind the raid and the alleged kidnapping remains unclear.
