Kwesi Pratt slams NPP’s Amenfi East PC’s call to attack military personnel

Kwesi Pratt Jnr, editor of the Insight Newspaper, has joined the chorus of condemnation against Ernest Frimpong, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Amenfi East, over his controversial video encouraging miners to attack military personnel at mining sites.

“It’s so annoying, this display of impunity is unpardonable. The worst part is that he is making these statements in the presence of the regional minister, who almost passionately confirms Frimpong’s remarks,” Pratt said on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana.

Pratt emphasized that the military is trained to protect citizens, and encouraging attacks on them is unacceptable.

“When lawlessness springs from the centre of government, it becomes worse than any form of lawlessness. I’m really shocked at this,” he added.

The Ghana Armed Forces have distanced themselves from Frimpong’s comments, reaffirming their commitment to protecting the nation and its citizens.

The incident has raised concerns about the increasing politicization of the military and the need for greater respect for Ghana’s security institutions.

Many are calling for Frimpong to apologize and retract his statement, and for the NPP to take action against him.
