The wife of a late herbal doctor in Kasoa, Mrs. Charlotte Siaw, has been granted bail of GH¢100,000 without surety following her arrest in connection with the death of her husband, Mr. Felix Antwi.
The couple had been married for 42 years before Mr. Antwi died in a fire outbreak at their residence under circumstances that have raised questions among members of his family.
According to reports, Mr. Antwi had shortly before his death lodged a complaint with the police alleging that his wife and two houseboys had poisoned him.
He died the following day when a fire broke out at the residence. Mrs. Siaw, who was reportedly in the house at the time, escaped the incident unhurt.
Subsequent investigations, including an autopsy conducted on the deceased, reportedly revealed that Mr. Antwi had been assaulted before his body was burnt.
The findings led to the arrest of Mrs. Siaw and the two houseboys as investigations continued into the circumstances surrounding the herbal doctor’s death.
However, the decision to grant Mrs. Siaw bail has reportedly left the deceased’s children dissatisfied, with the family calling for her re-arrest as they seek further investigations into their father’s death.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to establish the circumstances leading to Mr. Antwi’s death and the fire at his residence.
