“Let him stay for 3,000 years” – Grusah speaks on Okraku after GFA approves 3rd term presidency

Alhaji Karim Grusah says Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku should remain in charge for as long as he wishes, even joking that he should keep the job for “3,000 years.”

He added that if that will help Ghana football, urging him [Kurt Okraku] to focus on developing youth football.

Speaking on Original TV/FM, Grusah said he has no personal demands from the GFA boss but wants him to prioritize the growth of juvenile football.

“I do not need favours from anyone,” he said. “If Kurt Okraku has anything to do, he should help develop youth football. That is what matters.”

Grusah also accused some clubs of match-fixing, claiming Dreams FC and Real Tamale United have been involved in fixing games. He recalled that Okraku was instrumental in abolishing the infamous Ashgold vs Inter Allies match-fixing scandal.

His comments follow the GFA’s decision to extend the presidential term limit from two to three terms after a constitutional amendment at the association’s 31st Ordinary Congress in Prampram.

The proposal, aligned with FIFA and CAF statutes, was overwhelmingly approved by delegates, with 114 out of 123 votes in favor. The change allows a GFA president to serve up to 12 years, compared to the previous eight-year limit.

The amendment means a GFA president can now serve up to 12 years instead of eight. Okraku, who is in his second term with two years remaining, could potentially benefit from this change.
