Let us collaborate to build Ghana together – Vice president-elect Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang

In her first public statement after the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) officially declared the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner of the 2024 presidential elections, the Vice President-elect, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang reflected on her electoral journey and urged Ghanaians to focus on the work ahead.

While expressing her gratitude to everyone who supported her and the campaign of the NDC to return to the seat of government, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang urged the supporters to transition from celebration to action noting that “It has been an interesting journey, the fun is over and it is time to start work”

She also emphasized the importance of collaboration in nation-building, reminding Ghanaians that there are a lot of work to do in order to improve the economic indicators of the country while moving from the current economic hardship currently facing the country.

She explained that although the journey ahead is arduous, “I don’t intend to travel alone; we will do it together”

The Vice President-elect in demonstrating her commitment to inclusivity, stated that, “I will hold the door, exhibit the method of holding the door for others to walk through.”

She reassured Ghanaians that the country’s progress requires collective efforts, “This country is not going to be built by us alone, but by all of us”.
