The regent and caretaker king of the Nanumba kingdom in the Northern, hasNaa Yakubu Andani Dasana called on all tribes within the Northern part of Ghana to put aside their differences and embrace peace in order to develop in unison.
Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana made the call when he endorsed the cultural oneness festival to be celebrated in Tamale.
Northern Ghana, has many tribes with different cultural practices. However, there are similarities that cuts across all cultural practices amongst the people of the North. These includes the Damba festival, fire festival and others.
To foster unity and to exhibit the rich culture of Northern Ghana to the world, The Taste of Africa, a non governmental organization is organizing a festival in Tamale which intends to bring all people and cultures within the Northern Ghana named Cultural Oneness Festival
The overlord of the Nanumba Traditional Area during a visit to his palace, called on all tribes up north to put aside their tribal differences which he said, will help in pushing for the developmental agenda of the people.
He added that the Northern Ghana has the oldest royalties in Ghana and it’s therefore incumbent on the people to sell their rich culture to the world for positive impacts.
He has therefore endorsed the Cultural Oneness Festival scheduled for December in Tamale, calling on other chiefs and traditional rulers to also take part in the festival from 7th to 9th December 2023.
