Leverage Microfinance Limited has inaugurated a new branch in Kpone, reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion and disciplined growth in Ghana’s financial sector.
The move comes as industry leaders stress the need for integrity and professionalism to safeguard institutions against future shocks.
Speaking at the event, former Principal of the National Banking College, Phillip Kwasi Buaben, urged financial institutions to learn from the painful lessons of the recent banking sector cleanup.
He emphasised that the survival of the financial industry depends on building strong, shock-resistant systems rooted in ethics and trust.
“Ghana’s financial institutions must be guided by the lessons of the banking sector cleanup to ensure resilience going forward,” Mr. Buaben stated.
Board Chairman of Leverage Microfinance, Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh (Rtd), credited the company’s stability during the sector crisis to its strict adherence to financial discipline.
He noted that this principle would continue to drive the company’s operations as it expands to new communities.
The Chief Executive Officer of Leverage Microfinance assured clients that the new branch will offer innovative products and customer-friendly services tailored to small traders, entrepreneurs, and the agricultural sector.
Traditional leaders from the Kpone Traditional Council pledged their full support, promising to foster a business-friendly environment.
The National Association of Microfinance Companies also commended Leverage for its bold expansion, urging the institution to maintain high ethical standards.
With the opening of the Kpone branch, Leverage Microfinance reaffirms its mission to bring financial services closer to underserved communities, promoting inclusion, trust, and sustainable growth.
