A group of frustrated investors, known as the Locked-Up Investment Holders Forum, will resume their protest today, Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in a bid to pressure the Finance Ministry to release their funds trapped in defunct financial institutions.
The protesters will gather at NDK’s premises at 9:00 a.m. and march to the Ministry of Finance, where they will picket until noon.
According to the convener of the forum, Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, the group has been left with no choice but to resume their protest due to the lack of engagement from the Ministry.
The Locked-Up Investment Holders Forum is demanding that the Finance Ministry provides assurances to enable the Bank of Ghana to pay funds locked up in defunct finance firms.
