Former Health Minister Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye is urging President John Dramani Mahama to secure funding to complete and operationalize the stalled Agenda 111 hospital projects.
This call comes after President Mahama revealed that approximately $400 million was spent on the project without a fully operational facility.
“It is worth disclosing that USD400m has already been disbursed under the Agenda 111 project,” President Mahama said during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament.
However, speaking to Annie Afua Ampofo on Good Afternoon Ghana on Metro TV on Monday, March 11, 2025, the ex-Health Minister Dr. Okoe Boye underscored the need for President Mahama to complete the Agenda 111 projects.
He emphasized that the $400 million was not wasted but rather put to good use, and it is an opportunity for President Mahama to complete the project.
“This is an opportunity for President Mahama to look for money and complete the Agenda 111 projects. The $400m was not wasted. It was put to good use,” Dr. Okoe Boye said.
Agenda 111, an ambitious healthcare initiative aimed at constructing 111 hospitals nationwide, was launched to bridge the country’s healthcare infrastructure gap.
