Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has intervened in the case involving 15-year-old Joseph Martey, the teenager who was allegedly tied to a motorcycle by his father and dragged through the streets of North Legon.
The incident, which sparked widespread public outrage, left the teenager with severe injuries and led to his admission at the University of Ghana Hospital for emergency treatment.
According to reports, the Madina Divisional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) Commander, ASP Dorison Tackyiwaah, contacted the MP shortly after the incident to seek support for the victim’s treatment and recovery.

In response, Dr. Sosu fully settled Joseph’s hospital bills and medication costs.
The MP also donated GH¢3,000 to the victim’s mother to support transportation and other welfare needs while Joseph continues to receive treatment and attend regular dressing sessions at the hospital.

Joseph is said to be responding positively to treatment and showing signs of recovery.
As part of efforts to support the teenager’s rehabilitation, Dr. Sosu has also arranged professional psychological counselling sessions to aid his emotional recovery, in addition to ongoing medical reviews and wound care.

The Madina MP was accompanied during the visit by Belinda Narkey Quaynor Esq., Lead Lawyer at F-X Law and Associates and Head of Legal at the Office of the Madina MP.

Also present was the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Legal Aid, Victim Support and Social Protection, who is reportedly holding a criminal watching brief in the case.
