Kwasi Kyei Darkwah, known affectionately as KKD, has been appointed as the country’s Special Envoy to the Caribbean Region.
The celebrated Ghanaian media personality, entrepreneur, and cultural ambassador now takes on a pivotal role to deepen bilateral ties between Ghana and the nations of the Caribbean.
KKD’s appointment is part of Ghana’s broader strategy to enhance its international relations. As Special Envoy, KKD will serve as the bridge between Ghana and several key Caribbean countries including Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados. These nations, bound by shared historical and cultural ties to the African continent, are vital partners for Ghana as the nation seeks to build stronger diplomatic, cultural, and economic links.
With deep roots in the African diaspora, the Caribbean holds significant importance in Ghana’s foreign policy. As Ghana aims to expand trade, encourage investment, and promote its vibrant culture abroad, KKD’s new role will be crucial in advancing these objectives.
KKD’s unique experience as a cultural ambassador makes him an ideal candidate for this role.
His reputation as a thought leader, influencer, and connector will prove invaluable in engaging with the Caribbean’s diverse political, business, and cultural communities.
