President John Dramani Mahama arrived in Singapore on Monday for a three-day State visit focused on strengthening bilateral ties and driving new trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The visit will include high-level talks with Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. Mahama is also scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the 8th Africa Singapore Business Forum and headline a Ghana-focused Investment and Business Forum that will bring together government officials and private sector leaders from both nations.
Speaking on arrival, Mahama said the visit reflects a shared commitment to innovation and enterprise.
“Ghana and Singapore share a forward-looking outlook anchored in innovation, skills, and enterprise. This visit will translate our shared values into practical cooperation, bringing Singaporean investment and know-how into Ghana’s priority sectors while opening new pathways for Ghanaian businesses across Southeast Asia,” he said.
Talks during the visit will cover education, science and technology, urban development, agribusiness and the digital economy.
The president is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Trade and Agribusiness Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare; Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu; presidential advisor Joyce Bawah Mogtari; and other senior officials including Ghana Investment Promotion Centre CEO Simon Madjie and Ghana Export Promotion Authority CEO Francis Kwarteng Arthur.
