Mahama picks Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice

President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate.

This announcement was made on Thursday, January 9, 2025, as part of the President’s first set of ministerial appointments.

Dr. Ayine is a senior lawyer with three decades of experience in practice. He previously served as Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice, and is the founding partner of Ayini & Partners Law Offices.

His extensive experience and expertise in law make him an ideal candidate for the position.

Dr. Dominic Ayine holds a PhD. in law from Stanford University, a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana.

He has also lectured at the University of Ghana Law School for many years.

As a seasoned lawyer and politician, Dr. Ayine is expected to bring his expertise to bear in shaping Ghana’s justice sector.

His nomination is subject to approval by Parliament.
