President Mahama has sworn in the 12-member Governing Board of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning Systems.
The ceremony took place on Friday, May 2, 2025.
The board, chaired by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, comprises key government officials, including Ministers for Interior, Defence, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Health, Environment, Science and Technology, Communications, Transport, and the Attorney-General.
Other members include the Director of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism, Colonel Emmanuel Sampson.
The National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM), established by Act 2021 (Act 1070), aims to identify emerging crises in Ghana and the West Africa sub-region timely.
The board works closely with government agencies, civil society organizations, and stakeholders to develop effective early warning systems and response mechanisms focused on human security.
The Centre’s mandate includes implementing improved crisis response mechanisms to enhance national and regional stability.
