The Mahama Transition Team has urged all public officials to resist any undue pressures and ensure transparency in all ongoing significant payments, recruitments, and other activities.
This call was made at the second meeting of the Joint Transition Team held on Friday, December 13, 2024.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, all such activities must be submitted to the Transition Team for consideration on a case-by-case basis.
“All public officials are, therefore, strongly encouraged to comply without fail and resist any amicable structure for satisfactorily addressing the issues involved,” he stated.
The move aims to bring clarity to the status of these payments and recruitments, ensuring that all actions taken are in line with the expectations of the incoming administration.
The Transition Team has established a framework to provide necessary transparency and accountability, emphasizing the need for an orderly transition process.
This development comes after concerns were raised over last-minute recruitments and payments by the outgoing administration, which could have severe fiscal implications for the incoming government.
The Mahama Transition Team has requested that such transactions be put on hold pending further scrutiny.
