President John Dramani Mahama concluded by commending health workers for their service and urged nurses and other healthcare professionals to maintain compassion when attending to patients.
Drawing inspiration from Florence Nightingale, he encouraged nurses to continue serving patients with dedication even under difficult conditions.
He acknowledged that health workers could sometimes be tired or stressed but urged them not to allow personal frustrations to affect their interaction with patients.
He said a warm welcome, a smile and compassionate communication could provide reassurance to patients and contribute positively to their recovery.
“Your smile is reassurance to the patient that they will get well. That is part of the treatment,” President Mahama said.
