The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region has rejected claims that former President John Mahama cut short his Northern Region tour to rescue the party’s fortunes in the Volta Region.
“The decision to visit the Volta Region was pre-planned and part of our comprehensive national campaign strategy,” the party stated.
The NDC described the Volta Region as their “world bank” and expressed confidence in the region’s loyalty.
“The bond between the NDC and the Volta Region cannot be compromised by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia or any other NPP flagbearer,” the party emphasized.
The NDC accused Asaase Radio of spreading misinformation and demanded a retraction and apology.
“We call on Asaase Radio to retract their misleading report and issue an apology for attempting to misinform the public,” the party said.
Mahama’s campaign team remains focused on engaging with Ghanaians nationwide, undeterred by “baseless speculations.”
“We are confident in the discernment of Ghanaian voters and their ability to see through these desperate attempts at political misdirection,” the NDC stated.
