A 44-year-old man, Kweku Charles, has been arrested for allegedly burying his wife inside their bedroom and keeping the burial hidden for more than two weeks.
The case came to light after neighbours and community members grew concerned over the sudden absence of the deceased, Esther Bolu, a well known church leader and founder who had not been seen in public for several days.
Their suspicions deepened when her husband reportedly took over activities at the church without offering any clear explanation about her whereabouts.
Residents say Madam Bolu was a familiar figure in the area and was regularly seen attending church programmes and community events. Her prolonged absence raised questions, prompting neighbours to alert authorities.
Upon investigations, police allegedly discovered that the woman had been buried in the couple’s bedroom, leading to the immediate arrest of her husband. The body was subsequently exhumed to assist further investigations.
The motive behind the alleged act remains unclear, and police say inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
The suspect is currently in custody and is expected to be processed for court as investigations continue.
