Man arrested over viral video threatening police officers

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 32-year-old filmmaker, Israel Agbo Forson, over a viral video in which he threatened to shoot any police officer he encounters.

The arrest was made on Monday, June 23, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation by the Accra Regional Police Command.

According to Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs at the Accra Regional Police Command, Israel Forson is currently on police enquiry bail and is assisting with ongoing investigations.

“The Ghana Police Service once again condemns in the strongest terms acts of incitement, threats, and obstruction against law enforcement officers,” she stated.

The police command emphasized that such conduct is not only unlawful but also undermines public peace and the authority of the police.

“The Command assures the public that it remains committed to maintaining law and order and will take the necessary steps to bring persons who engage in criminal acts to justice,” Superintendent Obeng added.
