A 42-year-old car sprayer, Albert Sam, has been found dead after traveling from Cape Coast to Accra to buy a vehicle, with police suspecting foul play linked to the transaction.
Sam, a native of Gomoa Potsin in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, left Cape Coast on Friday to purchase a car from dealers in Accra. According to his family, he later told friends that he had received the vehicle and was on his way back to Cape Coast.
He never arrived.
His body was later discovered abandoned in Winneba and has since been deposited at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital mortuary. The deceased’s uncle said the family became alarmed when all efforts to reach him failed after his last communication.
Police in the Central Region, together with the Winneba Divisional Command, have launched investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding Sam’s death and to establish the role of the alleged car dealers involved in the transaction.
Authorities say further details will be released as investigations continue.
