March For Justice: Ghanaians are venting their fury at the government – Fiifi Kwetey

Ketu South Constituency lawmaker, Fiifi Kwetey, has defended the opposition National Democratic Congress’ protest against what it terms as rising injustice, military brutalities, and unprecedented hardship in the country.

Speaking with Metro TV’s Shadrack Odame Agyare during the party’s protest dubbed; ‘March For Justice’ Tuesday, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South said the demonstration was borne out of frustrations occasioned by the country’s current situation under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.

“I think what’s happening in the country just calls for the expression of anger and outrage, so, what you are seeing is simply, people who have reached a point who say enough is enough. I mean, they can no more take what’s going on.”

“The culture of violence, impunity, trouping dictatorship, the culture of silence, and all the wrong things that are going on in the country, so, this is something that every Ghanaian needs to actually come out and express their anger at what’s going on,” he said.

Though most protests yield no results in our part of the world, the Ketu South legislator was optimistic the NDC’s Match For Justice will propel the government to address the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian to elevate them from poverty.

Fiifi Kwetey encouraged various pressure groups to continue mounting pressure on the “stubborn” governing New Patriotic Party because the Akufo-Addo-led administration opened the floodgate to what’s going on in the country today.”

He said incessantly expressing their displeasure with the government will achieve the needed result therefore persons unhappy with the state of affairs should subject the current administration to intense pressure.

“When you are dealing with a government that is stubborn, you have to make sure you keep the pressure so there are different ways of which the pressure is going to happen. This is simply one of them. There are different things that are going to be done as well,’ he said on Good Morning Ghana Tuesday, July 6.
