Media General responds to NPP’s withdrawal, asserts commitment to fair journalism

Media General Ghana Limited has responded to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) decision to withdraw from its platforms, citing alleged bias and unprofessionalism.

In a statement dated January 31, 2025, Media General “categorically asserts its commitment to bold and factual journalism,” built on the pillars of fairness, objectivity, and independence.

“We will continue to uphold these values, unwavering in our pursuit of truth and our commitment to informing the public discourse,” the statement read.

Media General denied claims of biased paneling, disruptive hosting, and unprofessional conduct, stating that its teams uphold the highest journalistic standards to ensure diverse perspectives are represented.

The media outlet assured all political actors that it will collaborate and nurture unbiased relationships with all parties through dialogue.

This development comes after the NPP announced its withdrawal from all Media General platforms, including TV3, 3 FM, and Onua FM, due to alleged bias and unprofessionalism.
