Heneba Kwadwo Safo founded Buz Stop Boys, a community-driven initiative focused on environmental sustainability, youth development and collective action.
Heneba is passionate about bringing people together to tackle environmental challenges, particularly plastic pollution, waste management and the conservation of Ghana’s natural environment. Through his work, he continues to encourage young people to take an active role in creating cleaner and more sustainable communities.
One of the major highlights of his work was the mobilisation of more than 800 volunteers for a large-scale beach clean-up exercise. The initiative attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, including the Spanish Ambassador to Ghana, and resulted in the removal of more than 100 tonnes of textile waste from the coastline.
Beyond the clean-up itself, the exercise helped draw attention to the growing challenge of waste pollution and the need for individuals, communities and institutions to take greater responsibility for protecting the environment.
Heneba believes young people have a critical role to play in driving environmental change. His work therefore goes beyond clean-up exercises, seeking to inspire and empower a generation of young people who are willing to lead, collaborate and take action on issues affecting their communities.
As Founder and Leader of Buz Stop Boys, Heneba brings together community engagement, environmental advocacy and youth leadership in pursuit of lasting impact.
Heneba is part of a distinguished line-up of speakers and panelists for the maiden edition of the Clean Conference, which will bring together policymakers, environmental experts, academics, development practitioners and private-sector leaders to examine Ghana’s progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Clean Conference organized by Ignite Media Group, parent company of Metro TV, Original TV and Original 91.9 FM is scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Cedi Conference Hall, University of Ghana, Legon.
The event will be held under the theme: “Assessing Ghana’s Progress Towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”
