Metro TV Honoured By UENR For Advocacy On Sustainable Development

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has honoured Metro TV for its outstanding contribution to public education and advocacy for sustainability in Ghana.

The recognition ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Metro TV premises in Accra, where the university presented a plaque of honour to acknowledge the station’s role in promoting national conversations around energy efficiency, climate change, and sustainable resource management.

The award was received on behalf of Metro TV by Mr. Anthony Bebli, Digital Marketing Manager of the station.

Officials from the University of Energy and Natural Resources, which operates campuses in Sunyani, Nsoatre, and Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region, commended Metro TV for its consistent reporting on energy and natural resource issues across the country.

According to the university, Metro TV has played a pivotal role in educating the public, raising awareness, and supporting national sustainability goals through its various programmes and documentaries.

“Metro TV has consistently used its platform to inform the public about the responsible use of energy and the importance of preserving Ghana’s natural resources,”
a university representative noted during the presentation.
