Michael Allotey confirmed as Accra Mayor with 100% vote

Michael Kpakpo Allotey has been unanimously confirmed as the new Mayor of Accra after securing all 30 votes from Assembly Members during a Special General Assembly Meeting at Accra City Hall.

The confirmation, overseen by the Electoral Commission, was praised by Greater Accra Regional Minister Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, who urged members to put development above politics.

In his acceptance speech, Allotey expressed gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors.

He promised to “reset Accra” and tackle key urban challenges such as sanitation, congestion, and youth unemployment.

A seasoned entrepreneur and logistics expert, Allotey brings over a decade of experience in real estate, petroleum, and transport sectors.

His confirmation was met with jubilation from Assembly Members, traditional leaders, and residents.
