Missing ECG cables recovered in Gomoa Awombrew – Kwame A Plus reveals

Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare-Obeng, popularly known as Kwame A Plus, has announced a breakthrough made in the search for missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) cables, thanks to the vigilance of residents in Gomoa Awombrew, a town in the Gomoa Central constituency.

According to him, a truck carrying cables broke down in the town a few days ago, prompting suspicion among locals that the cargo might be part of the missing ECG goods.

“The residents promptly reported the matter to the Swedru Divisional Police Command, which dispatched officers alongside ECG officials to inspect the cargo,” Kwame A Plus wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, April 2.

During the inspection, the driver failed to provide credible information about the source and destination of the goods, and the police found the waybill suspicious. After a thorough examination, ECG officials confirmed that the cables closely matched their missing items.

As a result, the driver, his assistant, and all individuals involved have been taken into police custody pending further investigation.

The police have also invited National Security to assist in the investigation.

Kwame A Plus praised the residents for their vigilance and swift action, which led to the recovery of the missing cables.
