More than half of Ghanaians report improved living standards

A new poll conducted by the Global InfoAnalytics shows that 54% of Ghanaians believe their standard of living has improved over the past year, compared to 30% who say it has remained the same and 10% who report a decline.

When asked about their expectations for the future, an overwhelming 70% expressed optimism that their living conditions would improve within the next 12 months.

This is the highest optimism level recorded since polling began in January 2022.

“The highest optimism recorded since polling started,” the survey noted, highlighting a trend of growing confidence in the country’s economic trajectory.

However, 16% of respondents were doubtful about future improvements, while 14% had no opinion.

Away from the living standards, the poll also asked Ghanaians to share their views on the future of the country.

74% of Ghanaians believe that the country is now headed in the right direction.

This development is an increase from November 2024, when only 29% of voters held the same view.

The poll, conducted between January 27 and February 16, 2025, indicates a growing sense of optimism following President John Dramani Mahama’s assumption of office.
