Monica Ampomah, a 28-year-old mother, has been remanded into police custody by the Assin Fosu District Court for allegedly slashing her 10-year-old daughter with a cutlass while questioning her over suspected sexual abuse.
The incident occurred after Ampomah reportedly became suspicious about a whitish discharge she had noticed in her daughter’s underwear while washing.
The mother, not convinced about the response she got from her daughter after asking who was responsible, reportedly beat the child with a cane before using a metal rod to strike her.
She allegedly later used a cutlass to inflict injuries on the child’s head, hand and finger
