Naa Koryoo receives rousing welcome after release

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East, Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has been given a heroic welcome by supporters and residents of Kasoa after her release from police custody on June 8.

Naa Koryoo was arrested and detained at the Cantonments police station in Accra following the discovery of a registered firearm in her vehicle at the Kasoa EC office on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Her triumphant return to Kasoa was marked by jubilation, with supporters and residents thronging the streets to catch a glimpse of her.

Addressing the crowd, the NDC national chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against intimidating NDC members, saying the party would not be cowed.

Naa Koryoo, in her remarks, said her arrest had strengthened her resolve, describing it as a mark of victory.
