Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has slammed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for consistently blaming the governing party for every wrangling in the country, saying it is a deliberate attempt to shift attention from their failures.
Madam Musah-Saaka, speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Monday, June 10, stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has a penchant for attributing every misfortune to the ruling party.
“‘This attitude of our compatriots in the NDC making it seem as if anytime they are in opposition, every state institution is against them… it’s like any time they are not doing what they are supposed to do, they are not selling any message, what are they telling people? They accuse us and pretend to know everything that the NPP is doing,” Lawuratu Musah-Saaka.
Musah-Saaka denied the NPP’s involvement in the arrest of Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Awutu Senya East constituency, who was detained by the police in connection with a gun found in her vehicle and a riotous action involving NDC and NPP supporters at the Electoral Commission office in the Awutu Senya Constituency.
Musah-Saaka challenged the NDC to focus on selling their message to Ghanaians instead of constantly playing the victim card.
“What are they telling the people of Ghana? What is their message? They should focus on selling their message instead of always accusing us,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has also denied allegations by NDC Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia that senior police officials orchestrated the arrest at the behest of higher authorities.
